Dear Church Family,

In an attempt to keep our members and guests as safe from Covid-19 as possible, we are going to follow the procedures outlined below as we re-open our church. We have also included the link to a copy of The State of West Virginia Guidelines (See link at bottom of page). We feel our plan meets or exceeds these expectations.

During this phase of our re-opening, we will be meeting for Sunday Morning and Sunday Evening Worship Services and Wednesday Bible Study in person.  Our morning Worship will begin at 11:00 a.m. in our gymnasium and Evening Worship at 6:00 p.m. in our sanctuary.  Sunday School will be delivered by live stream from 9:45-10:30 a.m. and will be in person for all ages. with social distancing encouraged.  For those who are unable to attend Morning  or Evening Worship Services, we will continue to live stream those service as well.
  1. If you have tested positive for this virus, please let the pastor or one of the deacons know by phone or email.
  2. If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms during this time, please refrain from attending live services.
  3. Although we will not deny admittance to members or guests who fall into any of the below listed categories, it has been recommended by The State of West Virginia that all attendees who are 65 and older or those who have an underlying at-risk health condition should stay home and watch the services online.
  4. If you have been directly exposed to someone who has flu or flu-like symptoms please self quarantine according to the CDC guidelines and refrain from attending our services until that period has expired.
  5. As much as we would like to engage in hand shakes and hugging of our friends and loved ones, we must insist that you refrain from doing this during our reopening phases.
  6. All members and guests attending during the reopening phases are encouraged to wear a face mask, or cloth face covering (face masks for pre-school aged children are at the discretion of the accompanying parent). As we DO NOT have facemasks to distribute to our members and guests, you will need to provide your own.  There are many options to attain a mask either through purchasing one or finding an easy pattern online for a  cloth-based homemade option.
  7. We ask that you maintain social distancing of 6 feet at all times unless walking to your seat or entering the building.  Anytime you must be less than 6 feet from others, please minimize this time to less than 15 minutes.
  8. We will enter through the hallway door that connects the church to the gymnasium. The door will be open 15 minutes prior to the start of the service.
  9. We encourage you to take your temperature prior to leaving home to make sure you’re not running a fever when you arrive.  However, as you enter, one of our workers will take your temperature with a non-contact infrared thermometer, which takes less than 5 seconds. If you are running a fever you will be respectfully asked to leave and we encourage you to call your doctor.
  10. Restrooms are available during this time.  However, with the shortened length of time during our COVID-19 services, most folks will be able to avoid using the restrooms during church service.  If needed, baby changing tables are located in the restrooms.  Please, always remember to practice good hand hygiene.
  11. Drinking fountains will be inoperative during this time.
  12. We will not be receiving an offering in the traditional manner.  Instead, we will have plates or bucket near the door for the offering as you leave the building.  Plus, we now offer online giving directly from our website.
  13. Certain ministries are not available in the conventional fashion during re-opening. Those include nursery and van ministry.    However, Sunday School for all ages will now be offered as of October 11 with social distancing in place.  The time for Sunday School live stream will be from  9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with morning worship services starting at 11:00 a.m.
  14. Your children are certainly welcome to attend our service, but all children must stay with their parents. If for some reason you feel you need to remove your child due to noise or distraction, we will have an area designated for you to do that.  This area will be the IMPACT Youth Room located in our gym.  We certainly understand, that children will be children and would love to have all that are comfortable attend our services.
  15. Please do not congregate in large or congested groups before or after church or in the parking lot.

We realize that many of you think this may be a bit much, but as leaders, we desire to do everything within our power to keep you safe. Ten years ago, no one thought we’d need a church security team, but now we have one. At the beginning of 2020, no one ever thought we’d be confined to our homes because of a pandemic, but here we are. We believe the safety of you and your family is of utmost importance, and we’re going to do everything we can to make your worship experience as safe as possible.

Please, understand that if you feel you should not attend our live service yet, then by all means, stay at home. No one, is going to think badly of you if you feel the risk for you or a loved one is too great. It’s up to you to decide. It’s up to us to attempt to keep you safe.

Prayerfully, we’ll be returning soon to past services models and reopen all ministries under less restrictive circumstances.

Please pray for a smooth transition as we work to re-assemble our Church Family.

God Bless
