Sunday School

Our children's ministry strives to combine kids into age-appropriate groups and educate in ways that help equip the family with spiritual wisdom so their kids can come to know Jesus.  Once in the kingdom, our ministries continue to center around spiritual growth and service for the glory of God.

Our Toddler room provides purposeful play emphasizing sharing and caring for others.  As a foundational beginning, our older nursery class adds simple Bible lessons and hands-on activities to help your child grow in knowledge of God.

(Two Side by Side Classes:  Infants and 1 - 2 Year Olds)

Our preschool environments are constructed to meet your children where they are cognitively, spiritually, physically, emotionally and socially.  Bible lessons are engaging adding puppets, play and hands on activities that emphasize the theme.


(Three & Four Year Olds)

Our primary class encourages learning through interactive play and engaging object lessons.  Our teachers pour themselves into the task of creating experiences your child will talk about on the ride home.  Students grasp Who Jesus is, what He is like, and why He came to earth.


(Kindergarten - 2nd Grade)

In our elementary environment, each Sunday is based on one of three basic, but powerful, truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52 – “Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor in the eyes of God and man.” Our lessions focus on understanding God’s plan and how it unfolded from the past, what His plan is for today, and how His plan will unfold in the future.


(3rd - 5th Grade Students)

We want our students to experience three things: wonder for who God is, discovery of who He created them to be, and passion for loving others. Everything we offer is designed to help middle schoolers and high schoolers begin to take ownership of their faith through these three basic truths.  Our teachers expose students to many facets of the Bible. In addition to book studies, students take on challenging concepts, such as theological studies, practical issues, and evangelism.


(6th - 12th Grade)

As a class we believe we should have the heart of a servant. Together the class works diligently to uphold the principles of our name, getting involved in many projects around the church.  Our class uses The King James Version Bible for our text as we do expositional studies from various books of the Bible, as well as periodic topical studies on everything from the home, raising teenagers, or the wise handling of our finances in light of God’s Word. In addition to our fellowship in class, we try to plan family oriented activities, which glorify God outside of class.  We’d love to have you join our class as we fellowship around God’s Word.

(All Ages Welcome)

Our Ladies Sunday School Class provides a time for women to come together in a comfortable atmosphere to share heartfelt requests and praises with each other, to laugh with each other, cry with each other, and to comprehensively study God’s Word, book by book.  Because we are specifically a Ladies Class, our ladies feel free to participate and ask questions regarding the Bible lessons. . . questions they might not ask in a combined class setting.  The close fellowship we have with one another is truly a blessing and we invite any lady to join us as we rightly divide the Word of Truth in love and fellowship.

(Ladies of All Ages)

Our class is typically attended by adults age thirty and older; many are grandparents.  Our intent is to study both Old and New Testament Books verse by verse at a leisurely pace to glean as much as we can from the amazing Word of God.

(All Ages Welcome)

During COVID-19 precautions, our preschool, primary and junior classes will be video based and published to the messages link under the Children's Sunday School Section.  Parents and guardians will be emailed the link once the videos are ready each week.  The activity packets will be emailed and a coloring page will be added to the messages section for download.  This will begin Labor Day week with your child's return to school.  

The Junior and Senior High School and College and Career Classes will be live at Elmwood Baptist Church starting Labor Day week with social distancing and masking where appropriate to maintain safety.

The Adult Bible Study Class will continue to be live streamed but also begin live services in the gym starting Labor Day Week.
